The government has blacklisted 14 contractor and supplier companies for failing to complete their assigned projects within the stipulated time. The Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO), under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, issued a notice on Friday stating that these companies were blacklisted based on recommendations from nine different offices.
According to the PPMO, the companies will be barred from participating in public procurement processes for a specified period as a result of their poor performance and inability to meet contractual deadlines.
Among those blacklisted, three companies were recommended by the Pushpalal Mid-Hill Highway Project Office, two companies by the Shree Suspension Bridge Division, and three companies by Sajha Prakashan. The remaining companies were recommended by other concerned offices, bringing the total number of blacklisted firms to 14.
The government has stated that this action aims to ensure accountability, maintain quality in public construction and procurement works, and enforce discipline within the contracting sector.
