Everest Bank Declares 20% Dividend

Kathmandu – Everest Bank Limited has announced a 20 percent dividend for its shareholders from the profit of Fiscal Year 2081/82. The decision was made during the 675th meeting of the bank’s Board of Directors held on Bhadra 19 (September 4).

According to Company Secretary Suresh Chapagain, the board has proposed distributing 14 percent cash dividend and 6 percent bonus shares. The proposal, however, will come into effect only after approval from the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) and endorsement by the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Of the total 14 percent cash dividend, the applicable tax will be deducted before depositing the amount into shareholders’ accounts. Similarly, after issuing the 6 percent bonus shares, the bank’s paid-up capital will further increase from its current level of around NPR 12.14 billion.

Everest Bank has a consistent history of distributing attractive dividends, which has helped boost investor confidence. Market analysts believe this year’s dividend announcement is another positive sign for both institutional and individual investors.
