Gold Hits Historic High — Price Jumps by Rs. 7,100 Per Tola to Reach Rs. 2,58,000; Silver Also Sets New Record

Gold prices in Nepal have once again surged to a new record high. On Friday, October 17, 2025 (Ashoj 31), the price of gold increased by an unprecedented Rs. 7,100 per tola, breaking all previous records. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of hallmark gold has reached Rs. 2,58,000 per tola — the highest rate ever recorded in the Nepali market. On Thursday, gold was traded at Rs. 2,50,900 per tola. This sharp rise marks a continuous record-breaking trend in recent days, reflecting the global surge in precious metal prices and rising demand in the domestic market.
Similarly, the price of silver has also reached a new record. Silver rose by Rs. 75 per tola on Friday, reaching Rs. 3,350 per tola. This surpassed the previous high of Rs. 3,325 per tola recorded on Ashoj 28. On Thursday, silver was being traded at Rs. 3,275 per tola. Both gold and silver prices have been on an upward trajectory, driven by international market trends and increased local investment interest.
