NEA Issues Ultimatum to Clear Dedicated & Trunk Line Dues

Kathmandu, Sept 28 –
The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has given an ultimatum to consumers using electricity through dedicated feeders and trunk lines to clear their outstanding dues by Kartik 17.

In a public notice issued on Sunday, NEA’s Distribution and Consumer Services Directorate warned that action would be taken against those failing to settle dues within the given timeframe. The authority stated that the notice was published as per the decision of the NEA Board of Directors on Asoj 10.

Installment Facility

For consumers unable to pay the full amount at once, NEA has offered a monthly installment facility of up to 28 months to clear their arrears.

Warning of Action

“If the outstanding dues are not cleared within the deadline, action will be taken under the Electricity Tariff Collection Regulation, 2078,” NEA warned in the notice.

Earlier Review Process Canceled

Earlier, consumers with pending dues for electricity consumed through dedicated feeders and trunk lines from Magh 2072 to Baisakh 2075 were allowed to submit applications for administrative review by the end of Jestha 2082. However, NEA clarified that this provision, along with all review-related processes, has now been canceled following the board’s decision on Asoj 10.
