Nepal Government's Official Stance on India-Pakistan Tensions: Strong Position Against Terrorism

The Nepal government has officially expressed its stance regarding the increasing tensions between India and Pakistan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a press release on Thursday reaffirming Nepal’s strong position against terrorism.

The release states, "Nepal has consistently condemned barbaric terrorist attacks in the strongest terms, as part of its firm stance against all forms of terrorism. Nepal stands with all in the fight against terrorism."

The government expressed deep concern over the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India, on April 22, which killed a Nepali citizen and other innocent tourists, further escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. "Even during this tragic time, Nepal stood with India. Our strong support in the fight against terrorism remains unwavering," the release said.

The government also emphasized that Nepal will not allow its territory to be used against neighboring countries. "Nepal will not allow any hostile power to use its territory against neighboring countries," the statement read.

The government also expressed hope for a de-escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan, stating, "We seek peace in the region. We hope the tension between India and Pakistan will reduce."

Following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India conducted airstrikes on Pakistan, known as "Operation Sindoor," in which 26 people, including Jaish-e-Mohammed leader Masood Azhar, were killed.
