Sonapur Mineral and Oil Pvt. Ltd. Pays Rs. 8.63 Million to Nepal Electricity Authority

Dang. Sonapur Mineral and Oil Pvt. Ltd., based in Ghorahi, Dang, has paid Rs. 8.63 million to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) as the first installment of outstanding premium charges for electricity consumed through dedicated and trunk lines during the load-shedding period.
According to the NEA, the company had an outstanding balance of Rs. 242.99 million for electricity consumed through dedicated and trunk lines between Magh 2072 and Baisakh 2075. Following the payment of the first installment, the electricity connection that had been disconnected on Kartik 7 was reconnected on Tuesday evening, the authority confirmed.
The NEA has provided industries with the facility to pay the dues in 28 installments, allowing gradual settlement of long-pending payments.
Officials stated that this payment marks a positive step toward resolving the long-standing financial dispute between Sonapur Mineral and the Nepal Electricity Authority.
