A Major Move by NRB for Liquidity Management: NPR 60 Billion to Be Collected

Amid excessive liquidity in the banking system, Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has decided to withdraw NPR 60 billion on Ashar 18. The central bank plans to absorb this amount for 63 days using the deposit collection instrument as part of its liquidity management strategy. NRB has been regularly withdrawing funds from the market every Sunday and Wednesday.

Class A, B, and C licensed banks and financial institutions can participate in this deposit collection. Interested institutions can submit bids through the online bidding system starting today at 3 PM, with a minimum bid of NPR 1 billion and increments in multiples of NPR 500 million. The principal and interest will be repaid on Bhadra 18.
