8.7 Trillion Remittance Inflow in the First Five Months of the Current Fiscal Year

Kathmandu. As of the month of Mangsir in the current fiscal year, a total of NPR 8.7 trillion (8,70,31,00,00,000) has been received as remittance in the country. According to the report on the current economic and financial status of the country released by Nepal Rastra Bank today, remittance inflow in the first five months of the fiscal year has increased by 35.6%, reaching NPR 8.7 trillion.

In the same period last year, remittance inflow had increased by 4.7%. In the month of Mangsir, the remittance inflow amounted to NPR 1.83 trillion (1,83,18,00,000). In the same month last year, the remittance inflow was NPR 1.18 trillion (1,18,79,00,000). During the review period, remittance inflow in US dollars increased by 29.0%, amounting to USD 616 million. In the same period last year, the inflow had increased by 3.4%.

During the review period, the income from the second income (self-transfer) reached NPR 9.54 trillion (9,54,78,00,000). In the same period last year, this income was NPR 700.43 billion (700,43,00,000). During the review period, the number of Nepali workers who obtained final labor approval (both institutional and individual – new) for foreign employment was 175,591, and the number of those receiving renewal labor approval was 163,924. In the same period last year, these numbers were 190,384 and 135,425, respectively.
