Birgunj Customs Records NPR 53.26 Billion in Exports in First 8 Months of Current Fiscal Year

In the first eight months of the current fiscal year 2081/82, goods worth NPR 53.26 billion have been exported through the Birgunj Customs Office. This marks an increase of 172.01 percent compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year. According to Deepak Lamichhane, Chief of Birgunj Customs Office, the surge is largely driven by a significant rise in soybean oil exports. During this period, 134.71 million liters of soybean oil, valued at NPR 28.19 billion, were exported.

Additionally, other commodities have also contributed to the export figures. In the same eight-month period, juice worth NPR 4.88 billion and iron and iron-related products valued at NPR 3.68 billion were exported. The Birgunj Customs Office continues to play a vital role in boosting Nepal’s trade growth. These statistics reflect a positive trend in Nepal’s export sector.
