Economic Survey 2081/82 Presented: GDP Growth Estimated at 4.61%, Per Capita Income Reaches $1,517

Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel presented the Economic Survey for the fiscal year 2081/82 (2024/25) at the House of Representatives on Thursday.

As per the survey, Nepal's economic growth rate for the current fiscal year is estimated to be 4.61%. The size of the country’s economy is projected to reach NPR 6.107 trillion (Rs 61 Kharba 7 Arba).

The survey also highlighted a notable rise in per capita gross national income (GNI), which has increased to USD 1,517, indicating an improvement in the average income level of Nepali citizens.

Additionally, the survey revealed a fiscal deficit of NPR 161.9 billion, while the total public debt has climbed to NPR 2.678 trillion (Rs 26 Kharba 78 Arba 87 Crore).

This economic survey sets the foundation for the upcoming budget and future economic policy planning by the government.
