As the preparation of Nepal’s federal budget for the fiscal year 2082/83 enters its final phase, the Ministry of Finance has imposed stricter access controls to its premises. The move aims to ensure a focused and organized approach to finalizing the national budget.
Last month, during the consultation phase, the Ministry had facilitated open access for representatives from various sectors, institutions, and policy experts to gather input and feedback. With those engagements now concluded, the internal budget drafting process has accelerated.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel is scheduled to present the budget statement for fiscal year 2082/83 before a joint session of the Federal Parliament on Jestha 15 (May 28).
The upcoming budget is expected to emphasize productivity, fiscal discipline, and effective public service delivery, according to early signals from ministry officials.
