Government to Sign NPR 700 Billion Worth of Project Development Agreements via Investment Board; Construction of NPR 400 Billion Projects to Begin

Kathmandu, May 29 – The Government of Nepal has announced that it will sign project development agreements worth NPR 700 billion with the private sector through the Investment Board in the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83.

Presenting the federal budget in the joint session of the Parliament, Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel stated that construction work on projects worth NPR 400 billion will begin within the same fiscal year.

To support this initiative, the government has allocated NPR 740 million for the Investment Board.

This move aims to enhance private sector participation, attract investment in large-scale infrastructure projects, and generate employment opportunities. The budget also emphasizes strengthening the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model and developing a more investment-friendly environment in Nepal.
