The Government of Nepal has announced plans to sign project development agreements worth NPR 700 billion with the private sector through the Investment Board Nepal in the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83.

Presenting the federal budget in the joint session of Parliament, Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel stated that construction work for projects worth NPR 400 billion will commence within the same fiscal year.

To support this initiative, the government has allocated NPR 740 million (74 crore) to the Investment Board.

The government aims to boost private sector participation, attract large-scale investments, and generate employment opportunities through this strategy. Minister Paudel also reaffirmed the government's commitment to strengthening the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model for effective infrastructure and development delivery.
