The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has granted approval to Him Star Urja Company Limited to issue its Initial Public Offering (IPO). This is the first IPO approval granted by SEBON following a recent dispute between the board and the Independent Power Producers' Association of Nepal (IPPAN) over the IPO approval process.
The company has received approval to issue 1.19 million ordinary shares, equivalent to 30% of its total paid-up capital of NPR 373 million. The total IPO issuance amounts to NPR 119 million.
NIC Asia Capital Limited has been appointed as the issue and sales manager for the IPO.
Him Star Urja is expected to announce the IPO opening date and application process soon. This approval is seen as a positive signal for other hydropower companies awaiting IPO issuance, potentially revitalizing investor confidence in the sector.
