Mixed Results in Commercial Banks’ Profits

In the first seven months of the current fiscal year, Nepal’s 20 commercial banks have recorded notable profits. Compared to the same period last year, the banks have seen a slight increase in earnings, with some institutions showcasing exceptional performance.
20 commercial banks earned a net profit of NPR 36.06 billion in 7 months.
Profit increased by 1.62% compared to last year (last year: NPR 35.49 billion).
Nabil Bank leads with a profit of NPR 4.11 billion.
Nepal Bank saw an impressive profit growth of 156.31%.
NIC Asia recorded the lowest profit at NPR 464.7 million.
The profit performance of commercial banks during this period reflects a mixed outcome. While banks like Nabil and Nepal Bank have excelled, the weaker earnings of institutions like NIC Asia highlight ongoing challenges. Overall, the banking sector shows signs of improvement, though not all banks have maintained consistent momentum.
