The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has restored electricity supply to all industries that were previously disconnected for failing to pay premium charges on dedicated and trunk lines. According to NEA, the power was reconnected after the industries paid the first installment out of a total of 28 scheduled payments.
Recently, power lines to 25 industries were cut off due to outstanding dues. Among them, three industries had already been disconnected earlier for failing to pay their regular electricity bills. NEA spokesperson Rajan Dhakal confirmed that there are currently no industries disconnected solely due to dedicated or trunk line arrears.
Out of the three industries still under review, Everest Paper Mills and Butwal Cement have not cleared their regular dues, while another cement company remains closed after failing to repair its transformer.
