Nepal's Commercial Bank CEOs Earn Multi-Crore Salaries!

The annual salaries of Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of Nepal's top commercial banks have been revealed, showing figures in multiple crores of Nepali rupees. Topping the list is Gorakha Rana, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Nepal, with a staggering annual salary of NPR 8.5 crore.
Following him is Jyoti Prakash Pandey, CEO of Nepal Investment Mega Bank, earning NPR 4.12 crore. Ashok Sherchan, CEO of Prabhu Bank, takes home NPR 3.94 crore, while Roshan Kumar Neupane of NIC Asia Bank receives NPR 2.98 crore annually.
Also on the list are Sunil KC, CEO of NMB Bank, with a salary of NPR 2.41 crore, and Gyanendra Prasad Dhungana of Nepal Bank Limited, earning NPR 2.36 crore.
These figures show how lucrative top executive positions are in Nepal’s banking sector. While variations in pay exist based on bank size, performance, and market share, the disclosed numbers highlight the highly competitive compensation landscape for banking leaders.
Experts believe such transparency helps promote public trust and accountability in the financial sector.
