NEPSE Index Falls by 31 Points; Turnover Drops to NPR 6 Billion

On the first trading day of the week, Sunday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a decline. The NEPSE index fell by 31.17 points to close at 2,749.83. Similarly, the Sensitive Index dropped by 5.03 points, the Float Index by 2.31 points, and the Sensitive Float Index by 1.84 points.
Trading volume also decreased, amounting to NPR 6.06 billion, with over 97,000 transactions involving 321 stocks and a total of 14.8 million shares.
By company performance, Unnati Sahakarya Laghubitta surged 6.77% to lead the gainers, while Asha Laghubitta rose by more than 4%. However, Global IME Samunnat Scheme–2 hit the negative circuit level. In terms of turnover, Nepal Reinsurance topped the chart with over NPR 454.6 million, followed by Himalayan Reinsurance (~NPR 290 million) and Himalayan Distillery (~NPR 260 million).
All 13 sectoral indices fell during the session. Development Banks led the decline with a 1.59% drop, while Finance, Hotels & Tourism, Hydropower, Investment, Life & Non-life Insurance, Microfinance, and Manufacturing all fell by more than 1%.
