NEPSE Rebounds After Two Days, Trading Volume Declines

After two consecutive days of decline, the NEPSE index closed higher on Monday, the second trading day of the week. The NEPSE index rose by 12.91 points to settle at 2762.74. Similarly, the Sensitive Index gained 4.02 points, the Float Index increased by 1.29 points, and the Sensitive Float Index rose by 1.61 points.

However, the total transaction amount decreased compared to the previous day. While over NPR 6 billion worth of shares were traded on Sunday, Monday’s session saw trading of 114 million shares worth NPR 5.10 billion through 68,775 transactions across 326 stocks.

On the company front, shares of Himal Star Energy surged 6.07%, and Standard Chartered Bank gained 4%. In contrast, Sahakarya Laghubitta dropped by 7.68%, while Vikas Hydropower fell by nearly 5%. By transaction volume, Nepal Reinsurance topped the list with over NPR 280 million in trades, followed by Everest Bank (~NPR 240 million) and Himalayan Distillery (~NPR 220 million).

Among the 13 sub-indices, 11 closed higher while 2 declined. The Banking sub-index posted the strongest gain at 1.62%, while the Trading sub-index recorded the sharpest fall at 1.15%.
