New Rs.10 Banknotes in Circulation with Signature of Former Governor Mahaprasad Adhikari

The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has released new Rs.10 banknotes into circulation starting Monday. A total of 63 million notes bearing the signature of former Governor Mahaprasad Adhikari have been dispatched to the market.

According to Ramu Paudel, Executive Director of the NRB's Currency Management Department, the notes amount to a total value of Rs.630 million.

The newly issued notes have serial numbers ranging from Sanket No. "Dar/32 0000001" to "Pa/94 9999999". On the left side of the note is an image of Mount Everest, and on the right is a watermark of the Rhododendron (Laliguras), Nepal's national flower. The bottom border of the note bears the inscription “B.S. 2081.”

The central bank confirmed that these new notes will circulate alongside the existing notes currently in use.
