NPR 7.72 Billion Allocated to Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, NPR 109 Billion for Social Security Allowances

The Government of Nepal has allocated NPR 7.72 billion to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and NPR 109 billion for social security allowance programs in the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83.

Presenting the budget at the joint session of the Federal Parliament, Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel said the communication ministry’s allocation will support the expansion of information technology, promotion of digital services, and increased access to communication infrastructure.

Additionally, NPR 109 billion has been allocated to continue the government’s social security programs for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, single women, children, Dalits, and other socially marginalized groups.

The government stated that these allocations will contribute to building a digitally inclusive society while advancing social justice and protection across the country.
