Sanima Middle Tamor Hydropower Reports 459% Surge in Electricity Sales Revenue; Annual Profit Jumps Sharply

Sanima Middle Tamor Hydropower Limited (TAMOR) has published its unaudited financial results for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2081/82, showcasing an exceptional rise in electricity sales revenue and a massive turnaround in profitability.

Electricity Sales Drive Strong Growth
As of Ashad-end 2082, the company generated NPR 1.973 billion from the sale of electricity, a 459.80% increase compared to NPR 352.47 million in the same period last year. This substantial jump reflects the commencement or scaling up of electricity generation and sales during the fiscal year.

In addition to electricity sales, the company earned NPR 661.09 million from construction-related revenue, although this represents a 77.64% drop from NPR 2.96 billion last year. The shift in revenue composition suggests the company is transitioning from construction-phase income to steady operational revenue from power generation.

Profitability Sees a Massive Turnaround
Gross profit rose 459.32% to NPR 1.711 billion from NPR 306.07 million, driven by higher electricity sales. Net operating profit surged 564.54% to NPR 1.203 billion, up from NPR 181.01 million last year.

The most notable improvement was in net profit, which soared to NPR 405.57 million from just NPR 2.08 million in the previous year — a staggering 19,445% increase. This significant leap reflects the shift to commercial electricity production and a stabilized operational structure.

Earnings Per Share and Financial Position
Earnings per share (EPS) increased from a negligible NPR 0.06 to NPR 12.17, signaling strong shareholder returns. Retained earnings turned positive to NPR 332.52 million from a negative NPR 73.04 million last year, improving the company’s equity position. The net worth per share rose to NPR 110.03 from NPR 97.82, while the price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio stood at 42.52, indicating a premium valuation in the market.

Sanima Middle Tamor Hydropower’s FY 2081/82 results mark a major milestone as the company transitions from construction revenues to full-fledged electricity sales, resulting in a dramatic boost to profitability. The sharp increase in EPS and positive retained earnings strengthen the balance sheet, while the high P/E ratio suggests strong investor confidence and expectations for sustained earnings. Moving forward, maintaining high power generation capacity utilization and managing operational costs will be key to sustaining profitability and delivering consistent returns to shareholders.
