Both Houses of Parliament to Convene Today, Budget Discussions to Begin

Both the House of Representatives and the National Assembly of the Federal Parliament are scheduled to convene today. The sessions hold significant importance as they are set to initiate discussions on the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83 budget and several key bills.
National Assembly Meeting at 1:15 PM
The National Assembly meeting will commence at 1:15 PM. At the beginning of the session, Secretary Dr. Surendra Aryal will table a message received from the House of Representatives regarding the Water Resources Bill, 2081.
Following this, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel will present a proposal to deliberate on the Customs Bill, 2080, which has also been received from the House of Representatives with a message.
Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal will then present a proposal to discuss the Ship Operation and Management Bill, 2081, along with the legislative management committee's report. A proposal to pass this bill is also included in the meeting’s agenda.
House of Representatives Meeting at 2:00 PM
The House of Representatives will meet at 2:00 PM. During the session, the Speaker will read out the details of documents received from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
Chairperson of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee, Ramhari Khatiwada, will present the committee’s report on the Federal Civil Service Bill, 2082.
The most important agenda item for today’s meeting is the presentation by Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel of a proposal to initiate general discussions on the annual estimates of revenue and expenditure (budget) for the fiscal year 2082/83. This will officially mark the beginning of the budget discussions in the House of Representatives.
