The District Court of Kathmandu has issued a short-term (interim) order to two online media outlets to remove published content related to Santosh Narayan Shrestha, Chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON).
A single bench of Judge Pitambar Sharma issued the order against Bizmandu Pvt. Ltd. and Nepal Khabar Pvt. Ltd. The order follows a petition filed by Shrestha, claiming that the published news had harmed his reputation.
Acting on the petition, the court issued the interim order instructing the removal of the content. The court has also asked the respondents to submit a written explanation within 15 days, justifying why a permanent interim order should not be issued.
A hearing on whether to continue the interim order is scheduled for Asar 4 (June 18).
