The Government of Nepal has announced that it will implement the recommendations of the High-Level Economic Reform Commission starting from the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83. Presenting the annual government policies and programs before the Federal Parliament on Thursday, President Ram Chandra Paudel stated that the implementation of the report will help revitalize the national economy.
The commission, led by former Finance Secretary Rameshore Khanal, has already submitted its report to the government, outlining key long-term economic reform strategies. The government plans to operationalize those recommendations in the coming fiscal year.
President Paudel also mentioned that cooperation among the public, cooperative, and private sectors will be promoted to generate employment and alleviate poverty. Furthermore, public-private partnerships (PPP) will be encouraged to support high, sustainable, and inclusive economic growth. The policy document also highlights the need to maintain coordination between fiscal and monetary policies.
