Government to Sell Rs. 10 Billion Development Bond Today; Internal Debt Schedule Announced

The Public Debt Management Office is auctioning a three-year "Development Bond 2085" worth Rs. 10 billion today (Shrawan 7). The auction will be held from 10 AM to 3 PM, and the bond will be tradable on the Nepal Stock Exchange. The bond offers semi-annual interest payments, is taxable, and can be used as collateral for loans.

The government has targeted raising Rs. 362 billion in internal debt this fiscal year. According to the published schedule, Rs. 113 billion will be raised between Shrawan and Asoj, Rs. 85 billion from Kartik to Poush, Rs. 109 billion from Magh to Chaitra, and Rs. 55 billion from Baisakh to Ashad.

To meet this target, the government will issue development bonds, treasury bills, citizen savings bonds, and foreign employment savings bonds. The fiscal budget of Rs. 1.964 trillion includes funding sources such as Rs. 1.315 trillion in revenue, Rs. 362 billion in internal loans, Rs. 233 billion in external loans, and Rs. 53 billion in grants.
