Him Star Urja Opens IPO for Project-Affected Locals and Nepalese Working Abroad

opened its Initial Public Offering (IPO) from today, 30th Jestha 2082 (June 13, 2025), for project-affected locals of Okhaldhunga and Solukhumbu districts, and Nepalese citizens working abroad. The company is issuing 1,86,500 units of shares to locals and 93,250 units to Nepalese in foreign employment. The IPO for locals will remain open until 13th Ashadh, with a possible extension till 29th Ashadh if under-subscribed. However, the IPO for Nepali citizens working abroad will close on 13th Ashadh without extension.
The company’s total issued capital is NPR 37.30 crores, with 30% (11,19,000 units) being offered to the public. Of this, 5% has been allocated for locals, and 25% will be issued to the general public later. Among the general public quota, 10% is reserved for Nepalese abroad. NIC Asia Capital Limited is managing the IPO process.
Him Star Urja is currently developing the 5 MW Buku Kapati Khola Hydropower Project in Okhaldhunga and Solukhumbu. As of mid-January 2025, the project has achieved 95% physical progress. The company’s credit rating has been upgraded by ICRA Nepal from B+ to BB-, reflecting moderate credit risk.
