The meeting of the House of Representatives, scheduled for 1:30 PM on Thursday, began after a slight delay.
As soon as the session commenced, opposition party members stood up in protest. In response, the Speaker gave time to Hitraj Pandey, Chief Whip of the main opposition party, CPN (Maoist Centre), to speak.
Speaking in the House, Pandey stated that despite political disagreements, the Economic Survey and the upcoming fiscal year's budget should be allowed to proceed without obstruction.
Following this, Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel presented the Economic Survey for the fiscal year 2082/83 (2025/26) in Parliament.
Only after the protesting lawmakers settled down did the House proceed with its official agenda.
