Insurance Companies Earn 100 Billion in 7 Months: Stellar Performance by Top 5!

In the first seven months of the current fiscal year, life insurance companies in Nepal have successfully conducted business worth nearly NPR 100 billion. A total of 14 life insurance companies and 3 micro-insurance companies collectively collected NPR 96.01 billion in premiums. Among them, the top five companies are led by Nepal Life Insurance, which secured the first position with a premium collection of NPR 26.54 billion, followed by National Life Insurance with NPR 11.23 billion in the second spot. Similarly, Life Insurance Corporation (LIC Nepal) collected NPR 11.17 billion, Himalayan Life Insurance gathered NPR 9.90 billion, and Surya Jyoti Life Insurance amassed NPR 5.95 billion, securing the third, fourth, and fifth positions, respectively.
These leading companies have also excelled in expanding new business. Nepal Life earned NPR 4.59 billion in first-year premiums, maintaining its top position, while National Life followed with NPR 2.73 billion. LIC Nepal, Himalayan Life, and Surya Jyoti recorded first-year premium earnings of NPR 1.54 billion, NPR 1.38 billion, and NPR 1.38 billion, respectively. Compared to the previous year, first-year premium earnings have increased by 14.40 percent this year, indicating significant progress in Nepal’s insurance sector, as reflected in the data.
