Nepal Rastra Bank Issues Deposit Collection Instrument Worth Rs. 40 Billion

Nepal Rastra Bank has issued a deposit collection instrument worth Rs. 40 billion for 21 days to manage liquidity in the financial system. Interested banks and financial institutions can submit their bids through the bidding process by 3 PM today. The principal and interest payment date has been set for Falgun 25, and the interest rate will be determined through the bidding process. Banks and financial institutions can apply for a minimum of Rs. 10 crore and a maximum of Rs. 5 crore per non-exhausted portion.

Earlier, on Magh 30, Nepal Rastra Bank had issued a similar deposit collection instrument worth Rs. 60 billion for 21 days, where banks and financial institutions applied for only Rs. 78.75 billion. The average interest rate for that instrument was 2.99 percent. Until the end of Magh in the current fiscal year, Nepal Rastra Bank has collected a total of Rs. 1,809 billion through deposit collection instruments.
