Kathmandu, October 10 — The Ministry of Finance has appointed Senior Joint Secretary Uttar Khatri as its new representative on the board of directors of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), replacing Mahesh Baral.
According to the ministry, Baral has been reassigned as the head of the Public Financial Management Training Center under the Ministry of Finance.
By law, SEBON — Nepal’s capital market regulator — must include a representative from the Ministry of Finance on its board. While Khatri has been officially appointed, he has not yet attended any board meetings.
The reshuffle follows the recent assumption of office by Finance Minister Ramashwar Khanal and is part of the ministry’s broader administrative restructuring of key positions.
