NRB’s Total Assets Exceed Rs 2.6 Trillion, Increase by 29 Percent — Rs 42 Billion to Be Transferred to the Government

The total assets and liabilities of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) have reached Rs 26 trillion 23 billion 95 million 40 thousand. According to the annual report for fiscal year 2081/82, NRB’s financial position as of the end of Ashad 2082 has grown by 29.23 percent compared to the previous year.

The central bank has stated that, after allocating required amounts to various reserve funds, it has decided to transfer Rs 42 billion to the Government of Nepal. This amount will support the government’s financial and economic management needs.

Similarly, the report highlights that the net income before adjustment of foreign exchange revaluation gains/losses and other asset revaluations increased by 9.11 percent, reaching Rs 80 billion 48 crore 26 lakh 50 thousand in FY 2081/82.

According to Section 91 of the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058, the central bank must prepare its annual report—including balance sheet, income, expenditure, and related financial statements—and submit it to the Government of Nepal within four months after the end of the fiscal year.

The newly released report reflects strong progress in Nepal’s monetary system, foreign exchange reserves, asset structure, and overall financial performance of the central bank.
