Parliament Begins Deliberation on Government’s Annual Policy and Program for FY 2082/83

The House of Representatives is set to begin deliberations today on the Government’s Annual Policy and Program for the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83.
Prior to the discussions, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to formally table a proposal in the House to initiate debate on the address delivered by President Ram Chandra Paudel on Baisakh 19 in the joint session of the Federal Parliament.
According to Padma Prasad Pandey, Secretary General of the Federal Parliament, the session will also include the presentation of amendment proposals submitted by lawmakers and open the floor for general discussion on the policy address.
Today’s meeting of the House of Representatives is scheduled for 11:00 AM, while the National Assembly has already begun its discussions on the policy from Sunday. The next National Assembly sitting will be held today at 1:15 PM.
The government's policy and program include key initiatives such as the establishment of digital banks, the creation of a 'Bad Bank', restructuring of the capital market, promotion of private sector investment, and the operation of a secondary market for government bonds, among other strategic agendas.
Following the deliberations, the policy may go through a voting process for approval depending on the course of parliamentary discussion.
