Kathmandu — Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the prices of petrol, diesel, and kerosene following the latest price update from the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC). A meeting of the NOC board decided to implement the new rates from midnight today.

According to the revised pricing, the corporation has hiked the price of diesel and kerosene by Rs 3 per liter and petrol by Rs 2 per liter. NOC stated that the adjustment was made after IOC sent new rates showing an increase of Rs 2.54 per liter in petrol and Rs 6.53 per liter in diesel.

After the adjustment, the revised rates are as follows:

Diesel / Kerosene:

Price Category Classification

NOC has categorized its depots into three price groups:

Fuel prices differ across these regions based on transportation and depot distance.NOC clarified that the price adjustment was inevitable after receiving the new purchase rates from IOC, which had increased the wholesale prices of both petrol and diesel.

Analysts expect that the rise in fuel prices may put additional pressure on transportation fares and the overall cost of daily essentials.
