Remittance Inflow Increases by 13.2% in Fiscal Year 2081/82

In the first ten months of the fiscal year 2081/82, Nepal saw a 13.2% increase in remittance inflows, according to Nepal Rastra Bank. By the end of the month of Baishakh, the total remittance inflow reached NPR 1.356 trillion.
In comparison, during the same period last year, remittance inflows had increased by 16.9%. In Baishakh 2082 alone, remittance inflows amounted to NPR 165.3 billion, significantly higher than NPR 115.99 billion in the same month of the previous year.
In terms of US dollar remittances, there was a 10.5% increase, reaching USD 996 million this year. The total income from personal transfers (second income) in this period stood at NPR 1.479 trillion, up from NPR 1.301 trillion in the same period last year.
During this period, the number of Nepali citizens receiving new labor permits for foreign employment was 405,610, while the number of those renewing their labor permits was 280,314. In comparison, the same period last year saw 373,307 new permits and 236,398 renewals.
