Finance Minister Poudel to Table Economic Survey in Parliament Tomorrow, Focus on Current Status and Upcoming Challenges

Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel is scheduled to present the Economic Survey for fiscal year 2081/82 (2024/25) in the House of Representatives tomorrow — two days ahead of the national budget announcement. According to the official agenda released by the Parliament Secretariat, the survey will be tabled after the Q&A session with the Minister for Energy, Forests, and Tourism, during the parliamentary meeting starting at 11 AM.

The Economic Survey will outline the overall economic performance of the current fiscal year. It will include key indicators based on official data from government offices, such as production, expenditure, revenue, foreign aid, investment, imports and exports, inflation, and the financial sector’s status.

The survey will not only reflect the current state of Nepal’s economy but also assess the major economic challenges expected in the upcoming fiscal year. Since the budget is built upon the insights provided by the survey, it plays a critical role in shaping fiscal policy and setting the direction for economic planning.
