NEPSE Falls for Third Straight Session, Trading Turnover Declines

On the second trading day of the week, Monday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index closed lower for the third consecutive session, continuing the downward trend seen over the past two trading days. The benchmark index declined by 13.88 points to settle at 2,581.21 points. Along with this, the Sensitive Index fell by 2.25 points, the Float Index by 0.97 points, and the Sensitive Float Index by 0.74 points. Trading activity also weakened, with total turnover declining to NPR 3.51 billion from NPR 4.52 billion in the previous session, as 9.17 million shares of 332 listed companies were traded through 65,312 transactions.
During the session, shares of SY Panel Nepal hit the positive circuit, while the prices of 10.25% Citizens Bank Debenture 2086 and 10.25% KBL Debenture 2086 recorded notable gains. On the downside, Manushi Laghubitta Financial Institution posted the biggest loss, shedding 6.84 percent. In terms of turnover, Lumbini Bikas Bank led the market, followed by Sun Nepal Life Insurance and Manjushree Finance. Out of 13 sectoral indices, only the Trading sub-index advanced, while the Hotel & Tourism and Life Insurance sub-indices recorded the sharpest declines.
