Sagarmatha Hydropower Calls AGM to Approve 100% Rights Share Issuance

Kathmandu — Sagarmatha Hydropower Company Limited has announced the date for its upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM). The meeting has been scheduled for Mangsir 26 at Smart Darbar, located in Shankhapark, Kathmandu.

According to the company, the AGM will endorse the board’s proposal to issue 100 percent rights shares, allowing shareholders to subscribe in a 1:1 ratio based on the current paid-up capital.

Earlier, the company had already decided to issue rights shares equivalent to its existing paid-up capital of Rs 1.17 billion 32 lakh, and the proposal has been registered with the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) for approval. The rights issuance is currently in the process of being finalized.

Once SEBON approval is obtained and the AGM ratifies the proposal, shareholders will be eligible to apply for rights shares in equal proportion to their current holdings.

Market analysts say the rights issue will strengthen the company’s capital base and enhance its capacity for upcoming hydropower projects.
