How to Apply for Thailand B-Visa for Business Meetings & Trade Fairs

For Nepali entrepreneurs, exporters, and professionals planning to attend business meetings, trade fairs, or corporate events in Thailand, applying for the Non-Immigrant “B” Visa (Business Visa) is essential. This visa allows short-term entry for business discussions, trade exhibitions, and investment-related activities without engaging in employment. In 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu made the process fully digital through the official Thailand eVisa system available at www.thaievisa.go.th. This modernized process eliminates the need for in-person submissions, making it more convenient for Nepali applicants if all documents are correctly uploaded and verified.

The first step in the Thailand B-Visa process is to ensure your passport validity of at least six months from the intended date of travel and that you have sufficient blank pages for visa stamping. Then, go to the official Thailand eVisa portal, create an account, and choose the Non-Immigrant “B” Visa (Business Purpose) category. Carefully fill out the online form with accurate details matching your passport and upload all required documents in color. You will need a recent passport-sized photograph (3.5x4.5 cm), hotel booking, flight reservation, and a clear travel itinerary mentioning your trade fair or meeting schedule in Thailand.

Next, you must upload an official invitation letter from a Thai company, event organizer, or trade fair management authority. This invitation should clearly state the reason for the visit, duration of stay, and company contact details. Alongside that, applicants must provide a copy of the Thai company’s business registration certificate and a list of shareholders or event registration certificate to validate the host’s legitimacy. From the Nepali side, applicants must submit their own company registration certificate, PAN/VAT certificate, latest tax clearance certificate, and six months’ bank statement showing adequate balance to support travel expenses. Those representing organizations should also upload a recommendation letter from their employer confirming designation, purpose of visit, and financial responsibility during the trip.

Once all documents are ready, pay the visa fee online through the eVisa system. After submission, the Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu will review your application. The standard processing time is around 5 to 10 working days, though delays can occur if additional verification is required. It’s recommended to apply 2 to 3 weeks before your planned travel date, especially for trade fairs or conferences with fixed schedules. Once your visa is approved, you will receive a confirmation email. You must print this eVisa approval and show it to the airline during check-in and Thai Immigration upon arrival.
