Finance Minister Khanal Forms Revenue Advisory Committee for Upcoming Budget Preparation
Kathmandu: Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal has formed a Revenue Advisory Committee to assist in preparing the budget for the fiscal year 2083/84. Chaired by the Revenue Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, the committee includes representatives from government agencies, academia, and the private sector. It will recommend reforms related to income tax, VAT, excise duty, digital service tax, and e-commerce taxation, along with improvements in revenue administration, customs policies, and revenue leakage control. Nine sub-committees have been formed to study sector-specific issues and submit reports within the set timeline.
