Global market volatility, the gradual rise in prices, and changes in demand–supply dynamics have contributed to a continuous increase in gold and silver prices in the Nepali market.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of hallmark gold has reached Rs 247,000 per tola today (Mangsir 10, 2082). Similarly, the price of silver has also increased to Rs 3,200 per tola.
On the previous day, gold was traded at Rs 242,700 per tola, while silver was traded at Rs 3,115 per tola. This shows a single-day surge of Rs 5,200 in gold and Rs 85 in silver, the federation stated.
According to international media, gold is currently trading at USD 4,141 per ounce and silver at USD 51 per ounce in the global market. The upward trend in the international market has become the major reason behind the persistent rise in domestic bullion prices.
