तराईमा 'लु' को चेतावनी, १६ जिल्ला उच्च जोखिममाHeat Wave Warning Issued for Tarai Districts; 16 Districts on High Alert
काठमाडौं — आगामी तीन दिनसम्म देशका तराई भू-भागमा तातो हावाको लहर (लु) चल्ने सम्भावना रहेको जल तथा मौसम विज्ञान विभागले जानकारी दिएको छ।
विभागका अनुसार मधेस र लुम्बिनी प्रदेशका तराई क्षेत्रमा मध्यम तातो लहर देखिने अनुमान गरिएको छ भने कोशी, बागमती, गण्डकी र सुदूरपश्चिम प्रदेशका तराई क्षेत्रका केही स्थानमा असामान्य रूपमा गर्मी दिन हुने प्रक्षेपण विभागले गरेको छ। यी क्षेत्रहरूमा अधिकतम तापक्रम ३८ डिग्री सेल्सियसभन्दा माथि पुग्न सक्ने विभागको भनाइ छ।
अत्यधिक गर्मीका कारण मानव स्वास्थ्यमा सामान्यदेखि गम्भीर असर पर्न सक्ने भएकाले सतर्क रहन राष्ट्रिय विपद् जोखिम न्यूनीकरण तथा व्यवस्थापन प्राधिकरणले आग्रह गरेको छ। प्राधिकरणले सर्लाही, रौतहट, बारा, पर्सा, रुपन्देही, कपिलवस्तु, बाँके, बर्दिया, नवलपरासी (पूर्व तथा पश्चिम), झापा, मोरङ, सुनसरी, चितवन, कैलाली र कञ्चनपुर गरी १६ जिल्लालाई अति संवेदनशील सूचीमा राखेको छ।
तातो लहरका कारण शरीरको तापक्रम अत्यधिक बढ्ने, थकाइ र कमजोरी महसुस हुने, टाउको दुख्ने, चक्कर आउने र बेहोस हुनेलगायत गम्भीर स्वास्थ्य समस्या देखिन सक्छन्। यसका अतिरिक्त मांसपेशी दुखाइ, बान्ता र झाडापखाला पनि देखा पर्न सक्ने प्राधिकरणले जनाएको छ।
प्राधिकरणले तातो लहरबाट बच्न दिउँसोको समयमा घरबाहिर ननिस्कन र आवश्यक परेमा छाता वा पातलो कपडाले टाउको छोप्न सुझाव दिएको छ। यसका साथै शीतल र खुकुलो सुती कपडा लगाउने, पर्याप्त पानी, कागती पानी र ताजा फलफूल सेवन गर्ने तथा चिया-कफीजस्ता तातो पेय पदार्थबाट टाढा रहन भनिएको छ।
खेत र निर्माण क्षेत्रमा काम गर्नेहरूले दिउँसोको गर्मी समयमा काम नगरी बिहान वा साँझ मात्र परिश्रम गर्न प्राधिकरणले अनुरोध गरेको छ। बालबालिकालाई कडा घाममा खेल्न नदिन र ज्येष्ठ नागरिक तथा दीर्घरोगीहरूले स्वास्थ्यप्रति विशेष सावधानी अपनाउन पनि अनुरोध गरिएको छ। कुनै स्वास्थ्य समस्या देखिएमा तत्काल नजिकको स्वास्थ्य संस्था वा अस्पताल जान प्राधिकरणले आग्रह गरेको छ।
KATHMANDU — The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has warned of hot winds, locally known as lū, sweeping across the country's Tarai belt over the next three days, urging residents in vulnerable districts to take precautionary measures.
According to the department, moderate heat wave conditions are likely in the plains of Madhesh and Lumbini provinces, while unusually hot days are expected in parts of the Tarai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpashchim provinces. Maximum temperatures in these areas are projected to reach 38 degrees Celsius or above.
Given the potential for heat-related health impacts ranging from mild to severe, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has called on the public to remain vigilant. The authority has identified 16 districts as particularly high-risk — Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Banke, Bardiya, Nawalparasi (East and West), Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Chitwan, Kailali, and Kanchanpur.
Prolonged exposure to heat waves can trigger a range of health complications, including a sharp rise in body temperature, fatigue, weakness, severe headaches, dizziness, and loss of consciousness. Muscle cramps, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea are also among the conditions that may arise, the authority warned.
The NDRRMA has advised residents to avoid going outdoors during peak afternoon hours and, if stepping out is unavoidable, to carry an umbrella or cover the head with light cloth. Wearing loose, breathable cotton clothing, drinking adequate water, consuming lemon water and fresh fruits, and avoiding hot beverages such as tea and coffee have also been recommended.
Farmers and outdoor labourers have been urged to schedule physically demanding tasks during the cooler morning or evening hours, and to refrain from working under the harsh midday sun. Parents have been asked to keep children from playing in direct sunlight, while senior citizens and those with chronic illnesses have been advised to take extra precautions. Anyone experiencing heat-related symptoms has been urged to seek immediate medical attention at the nearest health facility or hospital.
