यस वर्षको वसन्त आरोहण सकियो, सगरमाथामा मात्रै एक अर्ब २६ करोड राजस्वSpring 2026 Climbing Season Wraps Up, Everest Permits Alone Generate Over Rs 1 Billion in Revenue
काठमाडौं — सन् २०२६ को वसन्त ऋतुमा सगरमाथासहित नेपालका विभिन्न हिमाल आरोहणको सिजन सकिएको छ। यस वर्ष जम्मा ३१ वटा हिमाल चढ्नका लागि एक हजार १९५ जना स्वदेशी तथा विदेशी आरोहीले अनुमति लिएका थिए। पर्यटन विभागले ६ हजार ५०० मिटरभन्दा अग्ला हिमालको अनुमति दिने गर्छ भने साना हिमालको अनुमति नेपाल पर्वतारोहण संघले दिँदै आएको छ।
अनुमति लिने आरोहीमध्ये सबैभन्दा बढी चीनका १५९ जना थिए। त्यसपछि अमेरिकाका १५२, भारतका १०१, जर्मनीका ७५ र बेलायतका ७४ जना थिए। नेपालका ४४ आरोहीले पनि यस वर्ष विभिन्न हिमाल चढ्ने अनुमति लिएका थिए।
सगरमाथाका लागि मात्रै ५६ देशका ४९५ आरोहीले अनुमति लिएका थिए। यीमध्ये ३९० पुरुष र १०५ महिला थिए। अनुमतिप्राप्त आरोहीका सहयोगी र गाइडसमेत गरी एक हजारभन्दा बढीले सगरमाथाको सफल आरोहण गरेको पर्यटन विभागले जनाएको छ। शिखरमा पुग्नेमा चीनका १०९ जना अग्रस्थानमा रहे। त्यसपछि अमेरिकाका ७७, भारतका ६१ र बेलायतका ३२ जना थिए।
यस वर्षको सबैभन्दा चर्चित उपलब्धि भनेको सोलुखुम्बुका कामिरीता शेर्पाको नाम हो। उनले जेठ ३ गते ३२औँ पटक सगरमाथाको चुच्चोमा पाइला टेकेर आफ्नै विश्व कीर्तिमान तोडे। महिलातर्फ सङ्खुवासभाकी लाक्पा शेर्पाले ११औँ पटक सगरमाथा आरोहण गरेर आफ्नो नै अघिल्लो रेकर्ड तोड्दै नयाँ विश्व कीर्तिमान राखिन्।
राजस्वका दृष्टिले पनि यो वसन्त सिजन उल्लेखनीय रह्यो। सगरमाथा आरोहण अनुमतिबाट मात्रै एक खर्ब आठ करोड १० लाखभन्दा बढी राजस्व उठेको छ। लोत्सेबाट छ करोड ६८ लाख, मकालुबाट तीन करोड १७ लाख, आमा दब्लम र कञ्चनजङ्गाबाट एक करोड ६५ लाखभन्दा बढी र अन्नपूर्णबाट एक करोड २० लाखभन्दा बढी राजस्व संकलन भएको छ। समग्रमा यस वसन्त सिजनमा हिमाल आरोहण अनुमतिबाट सरकारले एक अर्ब २६ करोड ४७ लाखभन्दा बढी राजस्व संकलन गरेको छ।
Kathmandu — Nepal's spring 2026 mountaineering season has come to a close, with climbers from across the world having attempted 31 peaks including Mount Everest. A total of 1,195 domestic and foreign climbers obtained permits this season. The Department of Tourism issues permits for peaks above 6,500 metres while the Nepal Mountaineering Association handles permits for smaller peaks.
China led the permit count with 159 climbers, followed by the United States with 152, India with 101, Germany with 75, and the United Kingdom with 74. Nepal itself had 44 climbers who obtained permits for various peaks this season.
Everest alone drew 495 permit holders from 56 countries, comprising 390 men and 105 women. Including guides and support staff, more than one thousand people successfully reached the summit of the world's highest peak, according to the Department of Tourism. Chinese climbers topped the summit count with 109, followed by Americans with 77, Indians with 61, and British climbers with 32.
The season's most celebrated achievements came from two Sherpa climbers. Kami Rita Sherpa of Solukhumbu reached the Everest summit for the 32nd time on Jestha 3, breaking his own world record for the most Everest ascents. On the women's side, Lakpa Sherpa from Sankhuwasabha Makalu summited Everest for the 11th time, also surpassing her own previous world record.
The season proved equally impressive on the revenue front. Everest permit fees alone brought in more than Rs 1 billion 80 million for the government. Lhotse contributed Rs 66.87 million, Makalu I generated Rs 31.78 million, Ama Dablam and Kanchenjunga each brought in over Rs 16.5 million, and Annapurna I added Rs 12.04 million. In total, the government collected Rs 1 billion 264 million from mountaineering permits across all peaks during this spring season.
