काठमाडौं — स्ट्रेट अफ होर्मुजमा आफ्नो अपाचे हेलिकप्टर इरानले खसालेको आरोप लगाउँदै अमेरिकाले मंगलबार इरानका विभिन्न सैन्य प्रतिष्ठानहरूमा आक्रमण थालेको छ। अमेरिकी सेन्ट्रल कमाण्डले अपरान्ह ५ बजेदेखि हमला सुरु भएको पुष्टि गरेको हो।
आक्रमणपछि बन्दर अब्बास, केश्म र सिरिकलगायत पर्सियन खाडीका तटीय शहरहरूमा ठूला विस्फोटका आवाज सुनिएका छन्। अमेरिकी सञ्चारमाध्यम एक्सियोसका अनुसार यो हमला मुख्यतः इरानको वायु प्रतिरक्षा प्रणाली र राडार संजालमा केन्द्रित रहेको छ।
राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्पले एबीसी न्युजसँगको कुराकानीमा सम्पूर्ण दोष इरानमाथि थोपर्दै यो हमलालाई "हिजो रातिको हर्कतको कडा जवाफ" भने। अमेरिकी हाउसका सभामुख माइक जोन्सनले पनि यस कदमलाई "दुःखद तर अपरिहार्य" भनेर समर्थन दिएका छन्।
घटनाको राम्रो पक्ष भनेको हेलिकप्टरमा सवार दुवै अमेरिकी चालकलाई सुरक्षित उद्धार गर्न सफलता मिलेको हो। उद्धारमा मानवरहित समुद्री ड्रोनको प्रयोग भएको छ, जुन अमेरिकी सैन्य इतिहासमा यस्तो अभियानमा पहिलो पटक भएको आधिकारिक पुष्टि भएको छ।
इरानले भने हेलिकप्टर खसालेको कुनै जिम्मेवारी लिन अस्वीकार गरेको छ। इरानका विदेश मन्त्री अब्बास अराघचीले सामाजिक सञ्जालमार्फत अमेरिकालाई कडा शब्दमा चेतावनी दिए — "सुरक्षित रहन चाहन्छौ भने हाम्रो क्षेत्र छोड।"
यो सैन्य टकराव यस्तो नाजुक समयमा भएको छ जब वाशिंगटन र तेहरानबीच परमाणु कार्यक्रमबारे वार्ता जारी थियो। ट्रम्पले केही घण्टाअघि मात्र दुई–तीन दिनभित्र ऐतिहासिक सम्झौता हुने दाबी गरेका थिए। अहिले त्यो वार्ताको भविष्य गहिरो अनिश्चयमा परेको छ।
Kathmandu — The United States launched strikes against multiple Iranian military installations on Tuesday, accusing Tehran of shooting down an American Apache helicopter in the Strait of Hormuz. US Central Command confirmed the attack began at 5pm local time.
Large explosions were reported across coastal cities along the Persian Gulf including Bandar Abbas, Qeshm, and Sirik following the strikes. According to American news outlet Axios, the assault was focused primarily on Iran's air defence systems and radar networks.
President Donald Trump, speaking to ABC News, placed the full blame on Iran and described the strikes as a strong and forceful response to the previous night's actions. House Speaker Mike Johnson also voiced his support, calling the move unfortunate but necessary.
On a more positive note, both American crew members aboard the downed helicopter were successfully rescued. The operation marked the first officially confirmed use of an unmanned maritime drone for a rescue mission in US military history.
Iran, however, denied any responsibility for bringing down the helicopter. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi took to social media to issue a stark warning to Washington, telling American forces to leave the region if they wished to remain safe.
The military confrontation erupted at a particularly delicate moment, with Washington and Tehran still engaged in ongoing nuclear talks. Just hours before the strikes, Trump had told reporters that a landmark deal was within reach in two to three days. The future of those negotiations now hangs in deep uncertainty.
