Can Nepalese Travelers Attend Conferences in Hong Kong on a Visit Visa?

Yes — Nepalese travelers can attend conferences, seminars, and business meetings in Hong Kong on a Visit Visa or Entry Permit, but there are clear restrictions under Hong Kong Immigration rules that every applicant must understand. The Immigration Department of Hong Kong classifies such participation as part of permissible business activities for visitors, provided the individual does not receive payment or engage in active employment while in Hong Kong.

Furthermore, business visitors can engage in related professional activities such as meeting clients, attending trade negotiations, inspecting business operations, or signing contracts, provided these activities are part of short-term visits and do not involve direct sales, service delivery, or any employment arrangement.

Nepali travelers attending a conference cannot sell products, provide paid consultancy, construct or manage booths, or engage in service-oriented work.
