Hong Kong Visa Fees for Nepali Citizens — Latest Charges & Payment Mode

As of 2025, Nepali citizens applying for any type of Hong Kong Visa or Entry Permit — including Visitor Visa or Transit Visa — are required to pay a fixed visa fee of HKD 230 per application. This amount is equivalent to approximately NPR 4,000, depending on the prevailing exchange rate. The fee structure is standardized by the Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and remains the same across most short-term visa categories, regardless of whether the application is submitted online, by post, or through the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu.

The payment method depends on how the application is submitted. For direct applications to the Hong Kong Immigration Department, the fee must be paid via a bank draft or cashier’s order, made payable to “The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.” Cash, personal cheques, or online wallets are not accepted. Applicants submitting through the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu can pay the equivalent amount in Nepali rupees, based on the embassy’s current currency conversion rate. The payment receipt or proof must be attached to the visa application before submission.

It is important to note that the visa fee is non-refundable, even if the application is rejected or withdrawn. Therefore, applicants are advised to double-check all documents before making payment. The average processing time for Nepali applicants is 4 to 6 weeks, though it can extend depending on case complexity or verification requirements. Upon approval, applicants will receive a Visa/Entry Permit Label or e-Visa PDF, which must be printed and carried during travel.
