How to Extend Indonesia 60-Day Tourist Visa (C1) as a Nepali Citizen – 2025 Complete Guide

For Nepali citizens visiting Indonesia under a C1 Tourist Visa (211A Visit Visa), the initial stay duration is 60 days, but the good news is that it can be extended twice, each extension granting an additional 60 days, allowing a total stay of up to 180 days (6 months) in Indonesia. The extension process is simple but must be done before the visa expires, as overstaying even a single day can result in a fine of IDR 1,000,000 (approx. NPR 8,600) per day.

The visa extension is handled directly by the local immigration offices (Kantor Imigrasi) across Indonesia. If you are staying in Bali, Jakarta, Lombok, Yogyakarta, or other tourist cities, you can apply at the nearest immigration office within your residential area. It is strongly recommended to start the extension process 10–14 days before your visa’s expiry date to avoid last-minute stress or delays.

To be eligible for the extension, your passport must remain valid for at least 6 months, and your travel purpose must still fall under “tourism.” During the extension process, Indonesian immigration authorities will verify your travel purpose, financial stability, and the validity of your eVisa. You are required to have sufficient funds to support your continued stay (generally above USD 2,000 balance), and you must not engage in any business or employment activities.

The extension procedure typically involves several steps. First, you must visit your nearest immigration office with your passport, eVisa printout, and arrival stamp. Once there, you will fill out a visa extension application form, mentioning that your purpose is to continue tourism. You will need to attach key documents such as a copy of your passport and visa page, bank statement, and a passport-size photograph. Some immigration offices take your new photo and fingerprints on-site.

The extension fee is IDR 500,000 (around NPR 4,300) for each 60-day renewal, payable directly at the immigration office. After submission, you will be scheduled for biometric verification, where your fingerprints and digital photo are recorded. The entire process generally takes 3–5 working days, depending on the office and volume of applications. Once approved, your passport will be returned with a new visa stamp indicating your extended stay validity.

Nepali travelers must remember that they can extend their visa only twice, after which they must exit Indonesia and reapply for a new visa if they wish to return. Attempting to overstay or work under a tourist visa violates immigration laws and can lead to fines, deportation, or entry bans. Always keep your passport and visa copy with you while traveling across Indonesia, as random immigration checks are common in tourist areas.
