How to Get a 60-Day Indonesia Tourist Visa (C1) from Kathmandu, Nepal

For Nepali citizens planning to visit Indonesia or Bali, the C1 Tourist Visa (also called 211A Visit Visa) is the only valid visa option because Visa on Arrival (VOA) is not available for Nepal passport holders. This visa allows a single entry and permits you to stay in Indonesia for up to 60 days, with the option to extend it twice, giving a total stay of up to 180 days (6 months). The visa must be used within 90 days from the date of issue, meaning you must enter Indonesia within three months after approval.
To apply from Kathmandu, Nepal, the process is entirely online through the official immigration website https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id — managed by Indonesia’s Directorate General of Immigration, Ministry of Law and Human Rights. Applicants must first create an account under the “Foreigner” section and verify their email. Then, select the visa type C1 – Tourist / Visit Visa (60 Days Stay, Extendable). This visa covers purposes like tourism, family or friend visits, and participation in non-commercial events such as conventions or exhibitions.
Before applying, prepare the necessary documents carefully. You will need a passport valid for at least 6 months, a recent color photograph with a white background, and a bank statement for the last 3 months showing a minimum balance of USD 2,000 (or equivalent NPR). Additional supporting documents such as return flight tickets, hotel booking confirmations, or invitation letters (if staying with friends or family) can make your application stronger. All documents should be uploaded in clear PDF or JPG format.
Once your application is ready, proceed to pay the visa fee online using a Visa or MasterCard debit/credit card. The official cost of the C1 Tourist Visa is IDR 1,500,000, which is around NPR 12,500–13,000. After payment, you will receive a confirmation email, and your application will be processed within five working days. In some cases, processing may take longer if your documents are incomplete or if the immigration office requires verification. Once approved, you will receive your eVisa (PDF copy) via email, which you must print and carry along with your passport while traveling.
Upon arrival in Indonesia, including at Ngurah Rai International Airport (Bali) or Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Jakarta), you must present your passport and eVisa printout to immigration officers. Once verified, they will stamp your entry, and your 60-day stay will begin. If you wish to stay longer, you can visit the nearest immigration office in Indonesia to extend your visa twice, each extension granting an additional 60 days. Remember, you are not allowed to work, do business, or earn income under this visa. Any violation of visa conditions or overstaying may result in fines, deportation, or entry bans.
