Step-by-Step: Submitting the Visa Application Form for South Korea in Kathmandu

For Nepali citizens planning to visit South Korea for tourism, study, family, or business, understanding the proper visa submission process is vital. The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kathmandu now accepts visa applications only through an online appointment system available at https://koreanembassynepal.org. Applicants must book their appointment online every Monday and Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. (Nepal Time). Those applying for a marriage visa (F-6) are the only exception and can submit without an appointment.

Once an appointment is secured, the applicant must appear at the Embassy counter between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.from Monday to Friday to submit their documents. Visa and passport collection is available between 2:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on working days. All applicants must have a Machine Readable Passport (MRP) valid for at least six months at the time of submission.

📝 Step-by-Step Application Process

  1. Book Your Appointment Online
Visit the Embassy website and reserve your visa submission slot on Monday or Wednesday morning.

  2. Download and Complete the Visa Application Form
Accurately fill out all details — including personal information, travel purpose, and itinerary — and sign it.

  3. Attach a Recent Passport-Size Photo
Use glue instead of staples to fix your photo, as required by the Embassy.

  4. Prepare Required Documents

    • Valid Passport and copy

    • Visa Cover Letter stating travel purpose and itinerary

    • Round-trip flight ticket and hotel booking

    • Bank statement (last six months)

    • PAN and Business Registration (if applicable)

    • Employment or Student Certificate

    • TB medical report (if required)

    • Notarized and translated documents in English

  5. Submit Your Application at the Embassy
Bring all originals and notarized copies to the Embassy during the submission window.

  6. Pay the Visa Fee in Cash
As of January 1, 2025, fees are:

    • Single Entry (up to 90 days): NPR 5,400

    • Single Entry (over 90 days): NPR 8,100

    • Multiple Entry (up to 30 days): NPR 12,150

  7. Track Your Application Status
Check your visa result online via https://www.visa.go.kr using your passport number, name, and date of birth.

Processing usually takes 21 working days or longer, so applicants are advised to apply at least three weeks before their intended travel date. Submitting fake or incomplete documents may result in rejection and even a 3-year visa restriction.
